I Miss the Beach
I love living in the mountains. It’s nice, peaceful, people are nicer. It’s rural without being completely in the middle of farmland. We’re not far away from a larger city, so I still have access to bigger stores and name brand shops if I absolutely need to visit them.
However, I really miss the beach. There’s just a whole other culture there that I enjoy. It’s relaxed, beautiful to look at, and the ocean is so peaceful. The salty sea air always makes me feel good. I love riding on ferries to and from places like Fort Sumter. I like walking along the beach on Hilton Head Island, or the view at sunset on the other side of the island where the boats dock.
I miss building sand castles, and dipping my feet in the ocean, and laying out to get a tan. I miss seafood restaurants and frisbee toss on the shore. I miss watching sea gulls play in the sand. I miss swimming in hotel swimming pools (even though I got to do that back in February).
