Re-Entry is Rough: Rob & Big With the Assist

September 13th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Daily Life, Entertainment, Lifestyle, My Life

Due to some technical difficulties, Game Night ended up being movie night, at my place. Melissa got into my liquor cabinet and started mixing it up for my guests. It’s nice to have a bartender friend. When I get paid again, I’m going to get a shaker, jigger, and muddler so I have some more appropriate equipment to work with.

That being said, I definitely passed out (from sleepiness, I didn’t get all sloppy drunk or anything) around 1am. I remember everything that happened. This morning I definitely felt some reprocussions. I’ve always been told that the cheaper your alcohol is, the worse the hangover will be. I’ve never had a hangover before, and I think it’s because almost everything I drink is top-shelf. But a shower, some ice water, sausage biscuits, some Diet Coke, and a PB & J, and I’m feeling alright.

I love this show Rob & Big. I know it is or at least was a big hit on MTV a while back. I haven’t seen anything intelligent or anything I could remotely describe as entertaining on MTV since Sifl & Olly went off the air. Rob & Big is an MTV show about professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and his bodyguard / best friend Christopher “Big Black” Boykin.

Rob is of course, filthy stinking rich and has a huge house and a nice SUV and a pool and… you get the point. Between sponsorships and product promotion and video games and money won from tournaments, Rob never has to work a day of his life. Most days, Big hangs out with Rob and helps him do pretty much whatever he wants. I wish I could be more specific, but you really just have to see it to enjoy it.

Crazy Cross-State Trips are Awesome

Last weekend I went with a friend half-way across the state to help him move his sister out of her apartment and into a new one, due to some domestic problems with her boyfriend. Friday night, we stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, and then Saturday we moved her and that night stayed at an Embassy Suites hotel. That’s the same kind of hotel we stayed in on my weekend trip back in February, so we took advantage of the happy hour free booze from 5:30 - 7:30pm.

I had two Manhattans, two of some drink the bartender named “Whatchamacalit,” a margarita, two rum and cokes, two whiskey sours, and I finished off with a regular diet coke. I was fine going back up to the room and hanging out and watching TV and talking with my friend and his parents, and I kept dozing off, so I finally went to bed.

Sunday was a long day - spent some time at my friend’s parents house while they did business, and I worked on a new project I’m involved in: Tech Jaws - a tech news site. Check it out, show it to your friends, and be sure and Digg any articles you think are interesting!
