Crack Up with Cracked.com’s Craptions

July 9th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Entertainment, Technology

I know you’re going to curse me even more for this, but if you think LOLCats from ICanHasCheezburger.com are hilarious, you should check out Cracked.com’s “Craptions,” a user-powered humorous captioning site.

Every day, Cracked.com’s team of mentally-screwed up monkeys posts a new odd picture, and the community submits and votes on the most hilarious caption. Every photo also has a link to the “less funny Craptions” so you can see who didn’t win.

I’ve been looking at this site off-and-on for two days now, and I think sites with that kind of “stickiness” are great to bookmark. They have a big selection of archives too, so you can go back and see the previous “Craptions.”

The Raging Tech on “Nom”

June 18th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Daily Life, Entertainment, Lifestyle, My Life, Tidbits

For those of you not familiar with the term “Nom” - it basically is an onomatopoeia (a word that represents a sound) to describe the noise one might make when scarfing down a delicious treat.

For example: “Hey Jimmy, this cupcake is delicious… NOM NOM NOM NOM.”

The “Nom” also carries with it a connotation of enjoyment, delight, and ferocity in consumption of the treat in question.

You may have heard the expression “I love you like a fat kid loves cake.” If this expression has validity, it is likely that if you give a fat kid cake, you will hear him make the “nom nom nom” sound. If you don’t believe me, give me some chocolate cake with chocolate icing and chocolate chips inside. I will “nom” the heck out of that cake.

Congratulations! You’ve Won Teh Interwebz!

May 28th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Daily Life, Entertainment, Technology

The internet is so great. It’s one of the single most expressive inventions of mankind. Since the limit on it’s growth is the bandwidth availability of each person’s network provider and the hard drive space on the web servers they upload to, there’s plenty of room for everyone to have their say. No matter what. Even if it’s stupid.

The internet houses some of the most prolific and thoughtful writers there are, and then it also houses funny pictures of animals with grammatically incorrect statements in bold white “Impact” font. You could be reading the public domain works of William Shakespeare, or giggling like a school girl at LOLCats over at iCanHasCheezburger (or now ihasahotdog.com for dog pictures!). You know which one you’ll chose the next time you’re bored.

Decision 2008: LOLObama or Presidential CATidate?

May 11th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Daily Life, Entertainment, LOLCats, Politics, vote

I saw this on Digg this morning and it made me laugh. Barack Obama just has this way of carrying himself, like he’s a real person. He doesn’t seem to have that air about him most politicians seem to have. He fits that picture in my head of a regular American who got fed up and got involved in the political process to change things. I don’t know if he’s going to be a good president or not, because everyone makes promises during election campaigns, and not everyone keeps them. All we can do is weigh the candidates and see who we think will be the best for the job.

Here’s a LOLCat-esque picture with Barak enjoying some fajitas:

It’s Thursday, the week is almost over, and soon it’ll be the weekend and you’ll be relaxing or running errands or doing something besides what you do all week long. If you’re low on motivational fuel or good vibes or whatever and just want a laugh, hopefully this lolcat will give you a quick pickmeup.
